PHP is fucking stupid

Its "strtotime" has a bug. Two ridiculous examples of this bug: (1) if strtotime(February) is executed on the 29th/30th/31st of a month, it will return "March"; (2) strtotime(+1 month) will return March if the current date is 31 Jan.

The bug has been reported many times, but its developers refuse to accept responsibility and say that is not a bug.

SG50樂高積木

早兩個月，臨近獅城國慶，忽然諗返起2015年收到嘅SG50樂高積木套裝。全國所有中小學學生（primary and secondary，家教嘅都有）同學校老師一人一套。

我嗰時住喺學生宿舍。有日又去回收角睄下有冇咩舊書睇。點知居然見到有幾套Lego俾人擗咗喺回收垃圾桶。心諗咩人咁大嘥，於是撿返起。

嗰時我都未醒水點解。上樓，好似發現新大陸噉同個同學講起。點知條友話，哦，係噉㗎啦，大個啦嘛，唔玩積木㗎啦，我嗰套都諗住擗咗佢。我呢下先知，原來有好多人連Lego都會擗垃圾桶。

雖然我唔係Lego fan屎，但係Lego都可以話係積木類玩具最出名之一啦掛。自己發揮創意鍾意點砌都得，d膠又襟玩、難整爛。我屌你唔玩都唔好掉垃圾桶啊。d桶雖然叫回收垃圾桶，但係全世界d回收桶都係一次過收晒返去，工業分揀，d Lego sets分分鐘俾人當普通生活垃圾揀出來去焚燒、堆填。

成套積木244塊。雖然我自己覺得個design麻麻地（灰色多，設計砌嘅嘢又有d悶），但係我心諗，你唔要，唔學d本地人擺上carousel或ebay轉手，都畀返學校/教育部，或者求祈搵間幼稚園/老人院畀人，或者拎去社區中心/居民俱樂部，甚至乎淨係擺喺地鐵站/圖書館/商場之類公眾地方等人撿咗佢，都唔好掉垃圾桶啊？！本人作為環保主義者，只覺非常可惜。

我前前後後執咗幾套。學校初初發嗰時執咗d。臨放假可能d人執房/返屋企/搬走，嫌阻埞，又有人擗出來。俾人掉落垃圾桶嘅比例，我估計，大概係成個宿舍5-10%。

住學生宿舍嘅99%都唔係星加坡人，95%都係d中國大陸人、東南亞各國人。我心諗，成班卜閪大鄉里。

收尾我將撿返來嘅，好似係有一盒拆都未拆過，我就畀咗一個住宿老師，佢個小朋友六七歲。第啲我就掉晒紙皮盒，塞晒落一盒度，後來呢盒巨無霸，我畀咗老豆同事個女，聽講佢好歡喜。我自己嗰套就畀咗街坊。畢竟呢套積木唔係我由細到大玩，並冇感情，而獅城生活之哀樂思憶，無需靠一副積木。

試過喺網上問香港網友會點處理噉樣一份意外禮物，都係自己玩或送人居多，邊有人掉垃圾桶咁冇衣食。

SG50 Lego Sets

Two months back, as it was near another National Day in Singapore, I recalled the SG50 Lego sets, which were given to each student and teacher in Singapore, as a commemorative gift. Each set consists of 244 pieces. I, a foreign student, was fortunate to receive one too.

I was living in a student's dormitory with many other foreigners. One day, I went to the recycling corner to hunt for old books. To my surprise, I found a few Lego sets lying in the bins. Apparently not one but a few foreign students had discarded them. Meanwhile, the then Education Minister Heng Swee Keat had to urge students “to keep this and to treasure this”, commenting on the news that some students tried to trade their sets online for as much as 100 dollars.

In the end, I collected quite a few boxes, some of which were largely intact. I put the opened ones together into one box and brought it back to China. Eventually this megabox went to my dad's colleague's daughter, who did treasure this.

Another kind soul silenced

The regime does not hesitate to silence anyone, especially those that dare to express their personal opinions and bring the life under tyrannical rule to light, but they will live in people's memories. Their kindness and courage will be remembered and celebrated. Thank you, 喀什支教笔记.

A comment on a Youtube video

Under this Youtube video (a track of the Enemy at the Gates OST) reads this comment:

"This is a good song to remember...remember the tragedy and horror others had to face and bleed for so that we can live in this age of enlightenment, progress and connectivity that has never before been achieved by our collective species. Don't be dragged down by petty nationalism again, for if we venture down that fruitless path we condemn our civilization to failure and destruction. Long live humanity and the pale blue dot we all call home."

I cannot agree more. I always envision a "world without borders", which will never come true as long as nationalism lingers. I hope I will not have to witness a major mankind conflict of our time.

現實笑話一則：媽媽說Lego積木很精緻。每個圓圈上面都有0937四個數字。我看了。應該是LEGO四個字母。

自私的國度

下午去過廣州圖書館，於海關前車站等車。路分四道。見一排車繞近“港灣式車站”打尖。又見一排車直接駛進車站以打尖。四條道，六條車龍。成班扑街。上車後，未及駛進廣州大道，忽然急剎。唔使問阿桂，又是為了避打尖的轎車。正扑街。

 

在一個地方，一個國家，稍有財富的人（開得起車），皆如此自私自利，罔顧公共利益，人注定不能安居，社會必然不得安定。中共雖未必是成因，但必然是使社會停步不前的障礙。

無盡的夢

對於《Interstellar》，我的評分是15分。（10分最佳，0分最差。）我的豆瓣評價應該是八顆星。

整部電影由頭到尾沒有一寸多餘。電影本身已經極好。每一位演員都令觀眾信服，令人慢慢代入故事當中，如臨其境，如歷其行。特效無可挑剔。配樂恰到好處。這已值得10分滿分。

看到Cooper於危難中奇蹟地成功對接，過程中表達出的無比勇毅與決心，加1分。Cooper為助Brand而自願犧牲，橋段似乎老套，加1分。Cooper奇蹟生還，與年老的Murph Cooper重逢，加1分。我哭了。Murph提議，Cooper出發去找Brand，加1分。（我原以為這會留作伏筆，以備開拍續集。）望着字幕思索Interstellar箇中滋味，竟看到此片以菲林拍成，此片坐定15分。

沒有外星生物，沒有宇宙大戰，沒有古怪天才，沒有天崩地裂。一樣可以有破釜沉舟的宇宙探險，一樣可以有貼近現實的末日世界。
